The European - Security and Defence Union (Issue 34)

Dear readers,

for more than ten years, the Behörden Spiegel has distributed the magazine The European - Security and Defence Union, edited by Hartmut Bühl. It was a great pleasure to support the Editor in Chief and his editorial team.

On 9 January 2020, Hartmut Bühl has taken over the whole responsibility for the magazine including the distribution. So, we will distribute for the last time the annexed edition. As the addresses are changing propriety and following the EU regulations, Hartmut Bühl will ask you to indicate your willingness to receive further magazines.

I thank Hartmut Bühl for his sense of cooperation and wish him and his team further success. I leave him the space to present his magazine

With best regards
Uwe Proll

Hartmut Bühl, Publisher and Editor in Chief

Ladies and gentlemen,

I would like to extend to the recipients of this message a warm welcome to the new edition of the magazine The European-Security and Defence Union.
This politically independent magazine for European Security and Defence Policy was established in 2008 by me and Uwe Proll. Thirty three (33) editions were distributed from 2008 to 2019 worldwide by the Behörden Spiegel in Bonn/Berlin.
I am grateful for the support we received over the years.
As I took over all responsibilities for the magazine as Publisher on 1st January 2020, I am legally obliged, under the General Data Protection  Regulation of the European Union, to  seek your consent for continuing to receive it. I ask you not missing the opportunity and to click (above)!

  1. We have succeeded with our quarterly magazine in creating a veritable platform for community building among authors and readers, from Europe and beyond, combining, since the first edition in 2008, the many and various civil, military and community aspects of Security and Defence Policy. Not always without heated debate.
  2. We intend to continue combining political, societal, economic and industrial issues with Euro-Atlantic security, but we will also - as largely demonstrated with special issues in recent years - contribute to the discussion on migration, climate change and new energies.
  3. In 2011, the magazine received the first CIDAN prize for citizenship, security and defence under the patronage of the President of the European Union. It was awarded at a plenary parliamentarian session of the Western European Union in Paris on 9th May 2011 by its President, Robert Walter.
  4. In 2019, the magazine’s editorial team was again honoured with the CIDAN Jury - Special Prize for outstanding journalism, enabling European citizens to better understand Europe. The prize was handed over by the former Vice-President of the European Parliament, Ioan Pascu.
For those of you who wish to continue receiving and reading the magazine please don’t forget to click above. I wish you a rewarding read and thank you for your fidelity. The next edition, N° 35, of the magazine, with the main subject of Common Security in the field of CBRN Mitigation (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) will be distributed on 1 July 2020.
With kind regards
Hartmut Bühl
